wraakRevenge… People tend to be very busy with keeping balance in their emotional factory in their heads. If there is turbulence there will be instant response to take action and restore peace in the head.  Revenge comes to mind if the balance cannot be restored. My ego called Betty is one of the reasons why I might have feelings of revenge in my mind. She makes restoring the balance of emotions difficult. She loves to dwell in drama and wines and screams her pretty little head of. A nice example the need for revenge of Betty is the story of ‘Sue Ellen”..

I once quite a job. A difficult discussion. The reason? The combination of colleagues in the office where I worked. I had this gut feeling. The combination of personalities didn’t work at all. Soon after I got my contract my intuition grew. Something is odd here. I couldn’t quite figure out what is was, but there were negative vibes all around. The body language and the spoken words didn’t match. I began to feel awful.

Of course I looked inside me to see where I had some responsibility for this feeling. After that I tried to talk to the colleagues, very carefully. This was not a big hit.  The woman who had worked there before me was repetitively discussed and she was called Sue Ellen (referring to JR’s wife in Dallas, the pity full and weak woman). I had no evidence for the bad office culture, until my last day at work.

imagesRO0YVM5HI opened an email in my colleagues computer, because I had to find something for another colleague and I found something else… An email with the title “sad bitch”. The email was about me.  I had become the new Sue Ellen. Shocked as I was I looked further and found more emails about me. I felt cold. I was right! My intuition was spot on.

.

The colleague had made up a story about the duration of my vacation and had told everyone that I probably wouldn’t return to work. That explained a lot. I Always cleared my desk after work, because the desk was used by other people too. It did explain why after my vacation my name was gone from the mailbox in the office and why people looked surprised to see me, because for their information I had already left the firm..

imagesGP76QECUWhat to do? Take action? Or let it go? Was there anything to say? Satisfaction to be gained? Pay back time? Betty was ready for battle. She had lots of ideas. A goodbye note with the name of Sue Ellen on it? Putting a name tag on the mailbox with Sue Ellen on it?  Forwarding all the emails concerning me to the manager, or even worse.. to the entire company?

I did nothing… except slam the door a bit harder than usual and saying out loud: Sue Ellen has left the building!  hahahahaha  imagesGP6A6JQ8
